CCTV
There is a large range of Closed Circuit Television Systems available on the market designed to suit all types of application and price ranges.
Each manufacturer offers a wide range of cameras with low, medium and high definition. The size of cameras also varies between full size down to miniature. Miniature cameras are usually used in covert operations. These cameras may be concealed in all types of areas and are not obvious to the observer. They may be fitted into passive infra red motion detectors/ heat detectors / light switches / clocks / radios / televisions. In fact they may be fitted in the most unlikely places to detect crime.
Full size cameras on the other hand are often used to provide security in car parks, exterior of buildings and premises. They provide a very good deterrent as they capture events that in turn may prove a case in court.Today cameras play a major role in the fight against crime. They are found in all types of business applications, e.g. shopping malls, towns and cities and homes.
There is no fixed formula for the design of CCTV Systems, it is imperative to employ a specialist company such as Crime Prevention Security whose product knowledge and experience in system design will achieve the client's objective.
With the reduction in costs of CCTV Equipment it also means that CCTV is now in reach of domestic applications with a selection of unobtrusive security cameras and DVR recorders. For example, we can design a CCTV system to view the perimeter of a standard house. With this solution, home security is enhanced and acts as a powerful deterrent. For your added safety you can view images from your home without going outside. This is particularly useful when your intruder alarm is activated at night, you can view the external camera images to check for intruders without the risk of going outside. With advances in technology today it is also possible to View Your CCTV cameras from any Location in the world by accessing your DVR unit via the Internet over a standard Broadband Connection. Fire Alarms
Commercial Fire Alarm Systems
All fire systems installed by us are designed, installed and commissioned to IS 3218:2009. We provide a large selection of fire alarm systems from all the leading makers of fire detection and control equipment. From simple conventional devices to advanced analogue addressable systems. One of our dedicated and experienced fire consultants will be happy to talk you through the process, from planning through to installation, with all advice based on your individual and specific requirements.
Fire Panels are at the heart of any fire system
Every device links back to the panel and communicates with it. In addressable fire systems every single device can be interrogated and analyzed from the panel. This is very useful when system testing and fault finding. Another advantaged of this type of system is that you can isolate specific devices rather than whole zones which will allow for phased evacuation procedures which are particularly useful in large buildings. Intelligent systems also allow for phased evacuation procedures to be programmed into the system. Conventional systems are not as intelligent and can only see faults or fires in certain zones and not a specific area as with addressable systems. Remote Terminals are also available which allow information to be distributed throughout a building. This is typically information from the main fire panel or specific information about the area the remote terminal is situated.
Detectors
This is the point of contact with a fire. Detectors can either be used to detect smoke, heat or both. When there is a change in air particles (smoke) or heat in the local environment the detector will be triggered which then sends a signal to the panel indicating a fire. There are also Beam Detectors which detect smoke in large areas such as a warehouse and Flame Detectors which detect flames by analyzing the characteristics of flame movements.
Sounders/Beacons
Sounders and Beacons provide audio and visual indication that there is a fire. In most cases sounders are used. However certain circumstances arise where sound levels may be high enough that a sounder will not be heard so a beacon is used instead. This is usually the case in plant rooms where loud machinery operate, or perhaps where a sound alarm would be inappropriate such as in a sound studio or hospital operating theatre. It is also useful in places where persons with impaired hearing may be present such as a disabled toilet.
Domestic Fire Alarm Systems
While nearly 75% of Irish homes have a smoke alarm, over 50% do not have an alarm on every level of the home, as needed. The National Safety Council advises that the average two-storey house at a minimum should have an alarm on each floor, while larger houses should have multiple alarms. Most Domestic Type Smoke or Heat detectors now come with Mains and battery backup power supply and are interconnect able.
"The message is simple; by properly placing, regularly testing and maintaining your alarm, you can ensure they are working and will alert you if a fire breaks out"
Emergency Lighting
Emergency Lighting Systems are primarily used to evacuate premises due to power Failure or Fire within the Building
Standard Emergency lighting systems are ceiling mounted, however In a fire situation it takes less than thirty seconds for conventional ceiling lighting and escape route signage to be rendered totally ineffective. Hot smoke rises rapidly forming a hot layer from the ceiling downwards, naturally, our reaction forces us close to the floor where the air is cooler and the smoke less toxic and dense. Inevitably building occupants, in often unfamiliar surroundings, are faced with reduced visibility and poor directional guidance, frequently leading to panic and disorientation. As a result, people have been known to die tragically only a few meters from exits which could have led them to safety. Independent research has proven low mounted emergency lighting systems continue to provide a highly visible line of light at, or close to floor level, long after other lighting systems have been completely obscured by smoke. Low mounted emergency lighting systems clearly identify the escape path and illuminate the escape route, thus improving evacuation times, reducing panic and .ultimately saving lives.
Due to Health and Safety legislation, all buildings in the commercial sector require an emergency escape lighting installation which complies with the relevant standards. Low mounted emergency lighting systems can exceed these requirements, providing long term safety benefits for the protection of the building occupants and the commercial reputation of building owners. These systems are effective in both smoke logged and clear air conditions and can be of major life saving importance in the event of any emergency situation, particularly when smoke may be present.
We supply and install all types of emergency lighting systems and commission systems to ETCI regulations. As part of our service we can provide an ongoing maintenance program. All systems are installed and commissioned to IS 3217 : 1989. Are you interested in installing Emergency lighting around your home or business? If so then call us for a free site Survey.

Periodic inspections Inc Thermal Imaging
The Benefits Of Preventative maintenance cannot be underestimated and a sample of maintenance such as thermal imaging can be explained as follows: Thermal Imaging uses a very specialised camera along with real time computer analysis to capture snapshots of any physical entity under any conditions (e.g. under full load). A colour enhanced thermal image is produced which has a full temperature scale. This image shows any hotspots in the area analysed. The reports align the thermal image beside a digital photograph of the area to best observe any potential problems (see example). Any issues can then be identified and solutions proposed. It is fast becoming an insurance requirement across the manufacturing industry. This used to be very expensive, but recent advancements in technology means this has become more affordable across all facets off industry. The benefits far outweigh the costs of the report Some of the reasons you should consider calling us to discuss a possible thermal imaging survey are:
Succesful communications depends on a proven structured cable infrastructure. A structured cable network must be capable of carrying voice, data, video and CCTV throughout a premises.
Our fully trained engineers can carry out cabling installations from one cable to large structured networks. For more information on the services that we provide or to arrange a site survey please call 01 8901002 or email your request to us and we will call you.
Home Automation
We Can provide multi-room audio solutions for your home. Up to 6 channels of audio: your TV, CD, DVD, MiniDisk, mp3, cassette player. Whatever you have, piped throughout your home. A CD playing in the living room, piped into the kitchen, bedrooms, dining room, bathroom, even your garage and patio area. A control panel in each room controls the volume, selects channel and even wakes you up. With a wall panel in each room you can intercom, from room to room, room to whole house, room to defined zones. Monitor the children playing in another room or that sick patient tucked up in bed. As well as the perfect multi-room audio solution for the home, we also provide ambient sound solutions for most every commercial requirement.
About Multiroom Audio
What is multi-room audio? Think of your hi-fi sitting in the living room. Now, imagine being able to listen to it in the bedroom (or any other room) through independent speakers. Imagine being able to control the volume in that room without affecting the volume of the system in the living room... even if the volume in the living room is turned all the way down. Essentially the music is "piped" throughout each room in the house. Now imagine up to 6 different audio sources or "channels". Listen to the news from the TV in the kitchen, the CD in the bathroom, the radio in the study. Up to 6 different channels independently accessed by a control panel in each room. Multi-room audio is the term given to piping music from one room to another… or to many. We can allow the "piping" of up to 6 different audio sources or "channels" to other rooms about the house.
Generators
Natural disasters such as storms, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods can cause disruptions in the power grid. In addition to such disasters, emergencies like fires can also cause temporary or long-term loss of power to one's dwelling or place of business. There can also be other causes of loss of power supply from your local energy grid, such as power plant breakdown, acts of terrorism, or transmission line cut-offs.
Sometimes, if the power grid is expected to be down for a long period of time, or when uncertainty of the restoration of normal electrical supply is the issue, some homes and businesses would opt to hire the services of temporary power generators, or install a fully automated stand by Generator set. The use of power generators is very common after a disaster. At the very least, the generators are used to provide lighting and for thermo-regulation. Most importantly, the use of emergency power will help preserve the food stored in freezers and refrigerators.
Power generators come about in different brands, models and capacities. Some can be very small man-portable or car-portable units that provide a couple of thousand Watts of electricity. A lot are towed units or large trailer units. Typical power generators' capacity can range from 10 kilowatts (kW) to over 2000 kW of power. Some can run for a few hours, while others can run for over a day at a time. Most models use diesel or gasoline as a fuel source.
With improvements in science and technology, today's power generators are more efficient and much safer to use than early model power generators. Modern generators are generally less bulky and much easier to transport and set up. Ease of use and more reliable failsafe systems also distinguish modern power generators from older models.
While modern temporary power generators are generally better, safer, and more efficient than older models, appropriate safety measures must be taken when using such equipment. Improper and inappropriate use of power generators can be very dangerous. The consequences of such could range from property damage or bodily injury to loss of life We supply and install generators to guarantee continuity of electrical supply as well as providing temporary supply where permanent mains power may not be available.
We can provide generators from 2KVA to 500KVA. On our staff we have a fully trained engineer which enables us to offer a local call out service together with offering full service and maintenance agreements. We can supply and install a domestic Change over Switch and Isolator in Most domestic Meter cabinets which will allow a customer connect their own Generator to their electrical supply and switch on Essential Services as necessary.
LED Lighting
The History
A light-emitting diode (LED) is an electronic light source. Discovered in the early 20th century, LEDs were introduced as practical components in 1962. Early LED devices emitted low-intensity red light. Remember the blinking light on your old telephone answering machine? That was an LED. Modern LEDs are brighter and available across a number of wavelengths, including visible, ultraviolet and infrared. The bottom line is this: LEDs are a better way to bring light to life.
Why choose LED lighting for home
The lights switch on instantly, generate very little heat and use less energy than traditional bulbs. And LEDs are environmentally friendly — containing no mercury or lead — reducing your carbon footprint. They also last significantly longer (up to 17 years) than traditional incandescent light fixtures. So they are the most cost-effective lighting source you'll find. Which is to say, they save you money. And that's the ultimate bottom line. There is no comparison between the cost of LED lights vs. traditional incandescent options. With incandescent bulbs, the true cost of the bulb is the cost of replacement bulbs and the labor expense and time needed to replace them. These are significant factors, especially where there are a large number of installed bulbs.
Why choose LED lighting for business
For office buildings, factories and warehouses, maintenance costs to replace bulbs can be enormous. These issues can all be virtually eliminated with the LED option. The key strength of LED lighting is reduced power consumption. When designed properly, an LED circuit will approach 80% efficiency, which means 80% of the electrical energy is converted to light energy. The remaining 20% is lost as heat energy. Compare that with incandescent bulbs which operate at about 20% efficiency (80% of the electrical energy is lost as heat). Most incandescent light bulbs blow out within a year and require replacements whereas LED light bulbs can be used easily for many years without burning out.
